Last night was a two for one deal: I went to an indi-theatre to see Colin and got home in time to catch Elvira's Movie Macabre showcasing the god awful horror film The Terror.
Starring a young, young Jack Nicholson The Terror follows Nicholson as a young French Soldier seperated from his unit who happens upon a beautiful young maiden who he comes infatuated with. Soon, Nicholson finds himself at a mysterious castle where an ancient Baron holds a secret about the young maiden that drives Nicholson mad. Long story short, the maiden isn't actually real and is the reincarnation (DID SOMEONE SAY ZOMBIES?) of the Baron's wife whom he murdered many years earlier.
Sounds pretty decent right? Well the only "terror"of this film was the horrendous acting and terrible plot. Not to mention there was actually no "terror" to be had! I fell asleep around 3/4 of the way through. Definitely skip out on this one. But, I guess that's the point of Elvira's Movie Macabre, showcase some classics and the worst of the worst...
